Sandwich Press: Maintenance

Metal tools and durability are indispensable in any kitchen.

Our sandwich grill metal plates are aluminum and have been treated with aluminum oxide to clean and prime their aesthetic appearance.

When the operator begins to use this grill, they will need to apply a form of lubrication to the cooking surface like butter, oil, or non-stick spray.

After some use, the plates will begin to golden and then brown - this is normal.

Tips to Maintain your Grilling Surfaces:

1) Use a damp cloth to remove excess fats and solid residues after every use.

2) It is safe to use a metal spatula to scrape the plates, as these plates to not have any coating that can be damaged. Our sandwich grills do not employ non-stick coating because they are too fragile for commercial settings and sensitive to misuse.

3) Occasionally, a deeper cleaning can be completed using descalers and degreasers (avoiding products that are reactive with aluminum). Once this is done, the operator will need to re-season the surfaces.
